2009 pistons playoff
NBA Playoffs: Bittersweet Time
Here's my dad's entry of the day: For the past 6 years the NBA playoffs signaled the beginning of a great adventure for the Detroit Pistons. They won the NBA Championship one year and made it at least to the Eastern Division Finals every other year during this run. Unfortunately 2009 will undoubtedly be different. First of all they barely even made it into the playoffs this year. This was attributable to a trade (Chauncey Billups), many injuries, and the fact that the team just got “old”. Second, in the first round they have drawn the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James, who candidly look unbeatable. While miracles do happen, I am resigned to this year’s adventure ending quickly. Instead I’ll just have to be satisfied watching LeBron and Kobe likely fight it out for the championship some time in June.
