Random Question
April 9th, 2008 by Rick Lax
Got a random question, for you LSB readers. Are you single and living in St. Louis?
Here’s why I’m asking: LawSchoolBlogger.com guest poster Counselor Elliott…

…recently parlayed his iPhone commercial success into a commercial for JackFoundJill.com, a dating service for St. Louis singles.
Pretty random, right?
(Elliott’s the one in the hot tub at the 21-second mark…the other guy in the hot tub just won 2nd place in Bravo’s Make Me a Super Model.)
The big question: how will this help/hurt counselor Elliott’s legal career?

It will hurt his legal career when the girlfriend he referenced in the iPhone commercial sees the new commercial and then airs all of his dirty laundry to the Bar and all prospective employers.

Also, Counselor Elliott is dreamy.

Yes, if there’s one thing we learned from these commercials, it’s that Counselor Elliott is a babe.
(Half of my female friends have crushes on him…but, LSB readers, he’s TAKEN!)

Thank you Counselors Steve and Ricky. I doubt it’ll impact my legal career at all.
I think a better question is whether the commercial is false advertising. The ad is for a men/women dating service in St. Louis; however, neither me nor Ronnie lives in St. Louis, I’m taken, and Ronnie’s gay!

Elliot is headed for catastrophe.
My stint as a male porn star cost me several promotions that I know of, and I’m sure that many more people saw Elliot nerdily trying to pick up that girl in a hot tub than saw me giving Jenna J. the wide-eyes…
It was worth it for me, but was it worth it for Elliot? Only time will tell.

What happened to my blog?

Maybe your readers are getting you back for the April Fool’s prank by, well, not reading…
Also, I enjoy an ego boost as much as the next narcissist, but claiming this post law-related is more than a stretch. To get readers back, post more legal stuff!

For what it’s worth, my average hits per day went from about 60 to about 200 after April 1st.

Awww, “fetch a pail of love.” How cute.
I can’t imagine that would hurt his career in any way.

Definitely will not hurt his career. Unless he was going into acting.
From iPhone to JackFoundJill.com? Wield that Apple experience like a sword, Counselor Elliott!

Point taken, Counselor AE. I’ll try to be more selective with future projects.
Haven’t heard from Scorsese yet, but, if he’s reading this, I’m available!!!
